Not so Merry Jester

Disrupted Library Technology Jester reports that the Library of Congress is adopting Microsoft’s Silverlight technology. Part of a library’s mission is to preserve and provide access to our literary heritage. That part of the mission is contravened when content is delivered to some but not all computing platforms (“crossbrowser and crossplatform” my eye—try to access a Silverlight site with Safari on a PPC). I wish I could believe this was an April Fools Day Joke.
